Connecting to the PPL Wireless Internet

You must have a wireless card installed properly on your computer for the connection to function properly.  If your laptop computer does not connect to the network automatically, follow these steps to connect: You must have an Airport card installed on your computer for the connection to function properly.
   
  1. Select Start --> Control Panel --> Network Connections (depending on the view set up, this might also be labeled Network and Internet Connections).
  1. To connect to the PPL Wireless network, select the Wireless Connection Signal icon located in the upper right hand section of the screen.
  1. Right click on the Wireless Network Connection, left click Properties. Then click on the Wireless Network tab.
  1. Click on the Wireless Connection Signal icon and select the Perry Public Library. Your computer is now configured to the PPL Wireless network.
  1. In the window you will see "Available wireless networks." Choose Perry Public Library. Be sure that the small box is checked, allowing you to connect to the selected wireless network.
  1. If you are still having trouble connecting, open your System Preferences located in the Apple menu.
  1. Click "Connect." Your computer is now configured for the PPL Wireless network.
  1. Find the Network icon and click on it.
 
  1. On the Network screen, choose the Built-in Ethernet next to the "Show" box.
 
  1. Under the TCP/IP tab, select using DHCP next to the "Configure" box.
 
  1. Choose "Apply now."
